Digital HIV PrEP Service
Preventx is transforming HIV prevention across the UK through our Digital PrEP Service, developed in partnership with public health teams nationwide.
Our Impact So Far
Together with our 11 service partners, we’ve dispatched over 2,200 PrEP prescriptions.
By combining digital and face-to-face approaches, we’re meeting growing demand and reaching people who are often underserved. Our secure, clinically governed digital platform removes barriers such as geography, stigma, time, and cost.
Let’s Talk About Expanding Access.
Together, we can be part of the wider national effort to drive down new HIV diagnoses across the UK in every region where prevention needs to go further.

How it works
The Preventx Digital PrEP Service provides an end-to-end digital pathway for people eligible for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), removing the need for routine clinic visits while maintaining robust clinical governance.
- Online Triage and Registration – Users complete an online eligibility assessment and clinical questionnaire.
- Home Sampling – Eligible users receive a discreet postal kit to test for HIV, renal function and other key indicators.
- Clinical Review and Prescription – Results are reviewed by qualified clinicians; suitable users receive an electronic prescription with PrEP delivered directly to them.
- Ongoing Monitoring and Support – Repeat testing, prescription renewals, and clinical check-ins are managed digitally, with reminders and messaging available throughout.
- This model supports public health goals by expanding equitable access to PrEP, improving uptake among underserved groups, and reducing pressure on face-to-face sexual health services - while maintaining the same clinical safety and quality standards as traditional pathways.
Improving Access
Our Digital PrEP Service is a dynamic and responsive offering, continually evolving based on feedback from both service users and partner organisations.
58%
of clinicians have concerns about missed opportunities for HIV PrEP initiation
57%
of people said they’d prefer to have PrEP posted to them
92.5%
of people signposted to PrEP by our online service did not go on to initiate PrEP in clinic
91%
of service users would recommend the service
70%
of service users would not have started PrEP without online access
Both research and anecdotal stories from users of sexual health services tell us that for a combination of reasons – from stigma to accessing and appointments – people who would benefit from PrEP are not initiating its use.
Working alongside clinics, digital PrEP provides an access point for PrEP that has been demonstrated as widely acceptable to service users in online self sampling, postal treatment and contraception services.
“We’ve developed a remote, standalone service providing swift, 24/7 PrEP access. Feedback is overwhelmingly positive—and the potential impact on HIV reduction across England is significant.”
